_Wondrous item, common

The Dimensionsball is a very useful item. It can be used to capture creatures of any kind. Whenever a creature is put into a Dimensionsball, the item cannot be used to capture another creature, though the user can bring the creature out and call it back as an action. To call it out, you simply throw the ball to an empty 5 foot square that you can see within 120 feet of you, and to call it back, you hold out the Dimensionball and it will be put back into the ball. The ball itself weighs 1 pound when empty, 2 when it holds a creature.

Capture. When you throw this item at a creature, the ball opens and turns the creature to energy before sucking it into the ball. However, the creature can escape with a successful Wisdom saving throw, DC equal to 8 + the user’s proficiency bonus + the user’s Intelligencemodifier. The typical Dimensionsball can catch creatures with CR of 1 or less. For every CR above 1, you subtract 1 from the save DC. If the creature is willing to be captured in this way, they automatically fail at the saving throw. If a creature linked to a Dimensionsball is dropped to 0 hit points, they are returned to the Dimensionsball and must take 1d10 days to recover before they can be put back into battle.
